So we have now been here for 4 months. I have to say that time is flying by rather quickly. Since I am not currently working, I have been taking every opportunity I can to get to know the area. I have a friend here that knows pretty much all there is to do in Ghana so whenever she has been heading out and about I try to hop in with her and see the sights.
So far in these 4 months I have...
1. Gone batiking twice
2. Held a monkey
3. Shopped at a CRAZY local produce market
4. Bought 2 giraffes, 3 elephants, 1 monkey, 1 monkey bowl, 1 painting, 2 pieces of pottery, 1 mud cloth throw, and an old door
5. Traveled to a beach resort
6. Received stitches
7. Browsed the Trade Fair...2 times
8. Taken 3 crazy taxi rides
9. Attended 7 Tuesday Teas
10. Hosted 2 Tuesday Teas
11. Attempted to play dodge ball
12. Gone on 2 all day CLO shopping trips
13. Damaged the ligament in my knee
14. Camped out with the fam at the beach
15. Been through 2 "cycles" of boot camp
I am sure there is so much more to add to the list, but this is all I can think of now!

First blog since arriving in Ghana!
Hello to all!
I haven't been very good about updating this, but I swear I am going to try harder! We have been here in Africa for a little over 2 months now! Seems so crazy, time is flying by! The boys settled in quite well and have come to like their school and have made many friends here...although they still really miss their friends from back in California.
Jer has a routine now at work and really likes the Marines he has here at this post.
I am finding that I was really not meant to be a stay at home mom/wife! I am going stir crazy!! Hopefully I will be able to get a job here that will help fill my days!
So far we have managed to make a couple of outings outside of the city. One out to the White Sands Beach Resort where we enjoyed a relaxing day lounging by the pool and on the beach ( without kids! ) and the other we spent as a family taking a bouat cruise of the Volta River/Dam.
Until next time....!

Getting ready for a busy summer...
It's not even here yet and it seems like summer is already gone! We so many things going on and things to get ready for...It feels like the season will pass right before our eyes!
Our big adventure is that Jeremiah got selected for MSG duty (embassy) so once he attends school this summer, we should be moving overseas. I will keep everyone posted!!

And the crazy Saturdays begin...
So it begins....Soccer is now going to be taking over our lives. Jeremiah decided after coaching Peyton's team last year that he wanted to coach both of the boys' teams this year.
Therefore our weeks are filled with practices. Mondays and Wednesdays are Peyton's U10 practices and on Tuesdays and Thursdays are Laine's U8 practices. Saturdays we have back to back games. One kid finishes and we head over to the next field and begin again. How long does this season last?! LOL!
And might I just say that I am a little confused as to this California weather we are having. It is Southern California for goodness sakes. Why is it that by the time that practice gets over at 6 every evening, I have hypothermia?!
I'll post some pics after today's games.

Their First Years
Rain Rain Go Away...but please come again another day!
So I am all for the rain, reminds me of home. And don't we all know that Southern Cali needs a little precipitation, however I am supposed to run this thing called a 1/2 marathon in June and it is pouring outside. It's hard enough trying to get the motivation to run and now how am I supposed to train in this? Uggg. Can't the rain just hold off until tomorrow? Pllllleeeeaaaaasssseeee!!

So this is my first attempt at the whole blogging thing. I guess we will see how it goes.
This year has started out rather quickly and it feels like before we know it summer will be here.
Jeremiah is still working hard at work. His battalion is getting ready to deploy again yet thankfully he will not be going with them.
Peyton is really liking 2nd grade. He has a great teacher named Mr. Tiger and is in a 2nd/3rd split class. He likes being around the older kids!
Laine is doing really well in kindergarten and he is especially liking not having to go to daycare anymore. We have a sitter that walks down to the school everyday and picks him up and then he gets to play at home the rest of the day.
Work is keeping me pretty busy. I have to say that at least I have job security...there will always be lots of pregnant women around, especially with a military base in the area! It's like clockwork...a unit comes back from deployment and you have a whole new cycle of pregnancies...
